Signs You Should Look for a Company that Offers Mold Inspection Near You in Coram, NY
Mold growth is a property owner’s worst nightmare. Mold is a fungus that spreads quickly and consumes the surfaces that it grows on, and it can leave extensive damage in its wake.
It spreads by releasing spores into the air, and exposure to those spores can have negative impacts on your health. Given the dangers that mold growth can pose, quickly detecting it so you can have it corrected before it becomes a more widespread problem is imperative, and the best way to detect mold is by investing in professional mold inspection services.
But how do you know when you should contact a company that specializes in mold inspection near you? If any of the following situations apply to you, schedule an appointment with a reputable Coram, NY mold removal company right away.
You’ve Spotted Mold Growth
Have you spotted discolored patches growing on the walls, the ceiling tiles, underneath your sink, or anywhere else in your Suffolk County home or business? If so, then you’re going to want to get in touch with a company that specializes in mold inspection near you.
The mold growth you see may just be the tip of the iceberg, so to speak. When mold growth is visible, there’s a good chance that it’s growing in other locations, too; locations that are hidden from view, such as behind the walls, underneath carpeting, or in your HVAC system. A reputable Coram, NY mold removal company will perform a thorough inspection to determine the extent of the mold growth in your Suffolk County property.
You’ve Noticed a Musty Odor
As mentioned, mold isn’t always visible; however, just because you can’t see it, that doesn’t mean you can’t detect its presence. A musty odor is almost always a sign of mold growth. That’s because the fungus grows in damp locations and it emits airborne spores, and these factors combined can create a must-like scent. As such, if your Suffolk County home or business smells musty, contacting a company that performs mold inspection near you is definitely a good idea.
You’re Experiencing Unexplained Physical Symptoms
One of the biggest dangers of mold is the adverse health effects that it can cause.
The fungus reproduces by releasing spores into the air, and exposure to those spores can cause allergic reactions or can worsen preexisting respiratory conditions, such as asthma and COPD. If you’re experiencing unexplained symptoms, such as nasal congestion, itchy and watery eyes, a sore throat, sneezing, coughing, wheezing, headaches, and irritability, for example, whenever you enter your Suffolk County property, and the symptoms subside when you leave, you’ll certainly want to schedule an appointment with a company that specializes in mold inspection near you.
Contact a Leading Coram, NY Mold Removal Specialist
If you’re experiencing any of the above-mentioned issues – or anything else that makes you suspect mold is growing in your Suffolk County home or business – contact Madison Ave Construction. Coram is a hamlet and census-designated place in the town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County, Long Island, New York, in the United States. As of the 2010 United States census, the CDP population was 39,113.
Coram is the oldest settlement in the central part of the town of Brookhaven. Its early name was ‘Wincoram’, perhaps the name of a Native American who lived in the area as late as 1703. The first European settler in the area was likely William Satterly, who sought permission to open a tavern to cater to travelers in 1677.

During the American Revolutionary War, Benjamin Tallmadge with his contingent of Light Dragoons arrived and he with 12 Culper Ring men captured and burned 300 tons of hay the British were storing for winter to feed their horses. George Washington, on hearing the news, sent the following letter to Tallmadge:I have received with much pleasure the report of your successful enterprise upon fort St. George, and was pleased with the destruction of the hay at Coram, which must be severely felt by the enemy at this time. I beg you to accept my thanks for your spirited execution of this business. Annually Coram celebrates the event in October.
From 1784 to 1885, Coram served as the meeting place for the Town of Brookhaven government, using the Davis Town Meeting House for much of that period. The Davis House, built in the 1750s, was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001 and is the oldest existing structure in Coram.
